Advanced Placement Summer Institutes
In June 2011, Region 16 ESC will host summer institutes for the content areas of science and math. Look for those to be posted in late fall. Fees for summer institutes are eligible for reimbursement from TEA. Since a district may be reimbursed for a teacher attending a summer institute every other year, Region 16 ESC offers our AP summer institutes on a rotating basis -- currently, English and social studies are offered in even numbered years while science and math are offered in odd numbered years.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I become certified to teach AP?
  • Neither TEA nor College Board requires a certification for teaching an AP course.  College Board does, however, recommend teachers attend summer institutes.
How do my students get AP credit?
