Performance-Based
Monitoring
School districts
receive annual performance information through the PBMAS, as set
of performance and program effectiveness indicators for special
programs TEA is required by state and federal statute to
monitor.

Performance and Data Integrity A major objective of
the Performance-Based Monitoring System is to integrate several
evaluation systems that are used to identify campuses and /or
school districts annually for intervention.

Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP)
Under No Child
Left Behind (NCLB), federal accountability provisions that
formerly applied to only to school districts and campuses
receiving federal Title I, Part A funds now apply to all
districts and campuses. All school districts, campuses, and the
state are evaluated annually for AYP and receive a designation
of Meets AYP or Missed AYP.

Texas Accountability Rating System
School districts and
campuses receive annual performance ratings of Exemplary,
Recognized, Academically Acceptable, and Academically
Unacceptable based on performance of all students and four
student groups - African American, Hispanic, White, and
Economically disadvantaged
