Region 16 Adult Basic Education is located at 1601 S. Cleveland (between Arthur Street and Alamo Park two blocks north of I-40).

There is no charge for orientation or for classes.

We can help!

FREE GED CLASSES

Region 16 ESC offers FREE morning and evening GED preparation classes,

as well as a new distance education class that will be offered in the future.

To enroll in GED classes, students must attend a THREE day orientation

to assess their academic levels and decide the best educational plan for them.

2009-2010 Orientation Schedule:

GED Orientation is set for:

 July 7-9, 2009

Sept. 29 - Oct. 1, 2009

Jan. 5 - 7, 2010

April 6-8, 2010

Students must attend all three days of orientation.

 Times:

8:30 am to 12:30 pm or

5:30 pm to 9:30 pm

Classes are taught in 12-week sessions following required orientation.

What to Bring:

All persons need to bring a government-issued photo ID, pencil, pen and paper.

If 16 years old, student must bring a court order or probation referral form.

If 17 years old, students must bring (from last school attended) a TEA form

for 17 year olds who wish to earn a GED, rather than a high school diploma.

 

GED testing is offered at Amarillo College.
