The Texas Education Service Center Curriculum Collaborative (TESCCC) includes a team of Education Service Centers that represents all areas of the state.  The collaborative's goal is to provide a quality curriculum support system to Texas K-12 schools.  TESCCC has developed CSCOPE, a comprehensive, customized, user-friendly curriculum support system.  In addition to the curriculum, CSCOPE encompasses resources for implementation and monitoring to ensure a quality curriculum.

CSCOPE Webcasts

Approximately 200 districts across Texas are now a part of the curriculum collaborative with over 30 districts in Region 16.  Ten ESCs are working jointly in this endeavor.

  • ESC 1-Edinburg
  • ESC 2-Corpus Christi
  • ESC 6-Huntsville
  • ESC 7-Kilgore
  • ESC 8-Mt. Pleasant
  • ESC 10-Richardson
  • ESC 13-Austin
  • ESC 16-Amarillo
  • ESC 19-El Paso
  • ESC 20-San Antonio

The online curriculum is easy to navigate and can be accessed by teachers, administrators and other staff members 24/7.  CSCOPE includes all core subjects from grades K-12 and several advanced courses.

  • TEKS/TAKS expectations are clarified, specified, and assembled in a vertical alignment format to eliminate multiple interpretations.
  • One page TEKS overview allows easy, yet complete 6 week planning
  • Year at a glance planning tool to ensure comprehensive learning coverage
  • Instructional plans are aligned with the TEKS/TAKS, researched-based, and include instructional strategies, and questioning techniques .
  • Curriculum components include:  Vertical Alignment Documents (VAD), Instructional Focus Documents (IFD), Instructional Units, Year-at-a-Glance

This is available to contracting districts who have the CSCOPE add-on to the Curriculum and Instruction contract.  If you want more information, contact Diane Reid, 806.677.5177 or email

Webcast:
The first webcast for contracting districts is now available.  This particular webcast is about 15 minutes in length and provides a general overview of the system.  To access the webcast, please go to the home page for your district's cscope site.  Under "My Curriculum," you will find a link to "CSCOPE Webcasts."  Click on this link and you will pull up the webcast.  To bring up the player controls which disappear after a few seconds, just move the mouse over the bottom portion of the video.  They will reappear.

The webcasts provided in the future will be grade and course specific.  This site will keep you posted as to availability.

Chemistry:  We are currently in search of a writer for chemistry.  Chemistry teachers are encouraged to use the Year-at-a-Glance (YAG) document to guide them as to the TEKS being taught in a particular six-week period along with the Vertical Alignment Document (VAD) to provide specificity to the TEKS.  An IFD for the second six weeks is scheduled to be available on Tuesday, Sept. 18, for chemistry which can also be used to guide instruction.  We apologize for this inconvenience and are working to resolve this as quickly as possible while maintaining the integrity of the quality of lessons provided.

Second Six Weeks:  The majority of instructional units and exemplar lessons for the second six weeks are available on your CSCOPE website.  Every effort is being made to finish and publish the remaining units and lessons as quickly as possible.

CSCOPE provides exemplar lessons to demonstrate the depth, breadth, and rigor of the clusters of specified student expectations taught in this unit. They are intended to be used as any other high quality teaching resource. Teachers can add to these lessons with other materials to allow students to achieve the standards clustered together in the instructional focus document. These exemplars contain the elements of learning to ensure that students  get access to the rigor and content of the IFD; however, they can and should be supplemented with other available resources.

September 7, 2007 - Assessments:  The assessments for CSCOPE are ready.  Please contact Debbie Purvines at 806-677-5274 or by e-mail if you need additional assistance.

Access to VADs and IFDs is no longer available on Region 8's website, because the documents are now available in the Curriculum Developer on your district's site.  To access these documents after you are logged in, go to the "Curriculum Elements" drop down box at the top of the screen.  Select "Resource Sampler."  The VADs and IFDs are housed in this portion of the Curriculum Developer website.

Stay tuned to this site for future updates and information.
