| Migrant funded districts must have a migrant Parent Advisory Council. Parent Advisory Councils empower parents to be advocates and to access available resources for their children. A local advisory committee is established for each regular school year on each campus for planning, implementation and evaluation of the local MEP, with meaningful consultation and involvement of the parents of the children to be served.
Migrant SSA districts have the option of participating in the
Region 16 ESC Migrant PAC that meets once in the fall and once in the spring of
each school year. If a Migrant SSA district prefers to participate in the
Region 16 Migrant PAC, at least one migrant parent and the migrant district
coordinator need to attend the two meetings. |
