The Title I Statewide School Support/Parental Involvement Initiative invites you to participate in the 2009 statewide conference, "Educators and Parents:  Everyday Heroes," at the Westin Galleria, Houston, November 19-21, 2009.

The conference will be attended by administrators, parents, teachers, federal program directors, ESC personnel, and community leaders with an interest in improving teaching and learning.

Training at the conference will focus on enriching parenting skills, NCLB parental involvement requirements, and scientifically based research and best practices.  In addition to several keynote and featured speakers, nearly fifty breakout sessions will be presented.  TEA staff will offer multiple concurrent sessions that address the most current NCLB requirement and legislative updates in parental involvement.

Come and join us in Houston, the fourth largest metropolitan area in the United States, with Texas-sized portions of shopping, dining and  entertainment.  Houston incorporates the perfect mixture of different cultures, the arts, big city influence, neighborhood intimacy, good old-fashioned ranch living and a lot of Texas pride.
