Title I, Part A Distinguished Schools Award Program
The Title I National Association of State Title I Directors (NASTID) honors Title I Distinguished Schools from each state at the National Title I Conference. This year the conference will be January 28-31, 2016, in Houston, Texas.


Each state may nominate two schools (one in each category) for the recognition. The two categories are:
• Category 1: Exceptional student performance for two or more consecutive years (Performance)
• Category 2: Closing the achievement gap between student groups (Progress)


NASTID has required criteria and each state may choose to add additional criteria. Each state determines eligibility criteria for the nomination. 


Texas Education Agency program staff have identified the eligibility criteria for Category 1: Exceptional student performance for two or more consecutive years in the following manner:


• Title I, Part A campus in school years 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015
• 75% or more low income in school years 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015
• Met Standard in the state accountability system in school years 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015
• High Progress Reward campus in school years 2013-2014 and 2014-2015
• Campus awarded Reading and Math state distinctions (Index 1) in the state accountability system in school
           years 2012-2013, 2013-  2014 and 20114-2015


Texas Education Agency program staff have identified the eligibility criteria for Category 2: Closing the achievement gap between student groups in the following manner:
 Title I, Part A campus in school years 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015
 75% or more low income in school years 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014-2015
 Met Standard in the state accountability system in school years 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015
 High Progress Reward campus in school years 2013-2014 and 2014-2015
 Campus awarded Student Progress state distinction (Index 2) in state accountability system in school
           years 2013-2014 and 2014-2015
 Campus not awarded Closing Performance Gap state distinction (Index 3) in state accountability
           system in school year 2013-2014 and awarded Closing Performance Gap state distinction (Index 3)
           in state accountability system in school year 2014-2015
