Identification and Recruitment

Every school district in the State of Texas is required to actively carry out the identification and recruitment of migrant children. Identification is essential in order to offer migrant students opportunities to learn and succeed in school. Designated district personnel must receive annual training for certification to sign Certificates of Eligibility.  However, effective identification of migrant children strongly depends on district and community support. Active identification of potentially eligible children must occur year-round and both in school and throughout the community since some children may not be enrolled.
