Reading Academies
Empower your educators and strengthen district-wide outcomes through the ESC Region 16 Reading Academy. Grounded in the Science of Teaching Reading, our comprehensive 12-module training equips classroom teachers with actionable, research-backed strategies in phonological awareness, decoding, fluency, and comprehension. District and campus leaders gain the critical data-driven frameworks necessary to support multi-tiered instruction and cultivate a sustainable, high-impact literacy culture.
Partner with Region 16 to transform classroom instruction and ensure every student becomes a confident, proficient reader.
The content for the reading academies is still under development. The reading academies are using current research on literacy and language development in addition to solid research from the past that is still relevant for teachers and administrators. The content is reflective of the characteristics and needs of today’s learners.
There will be 12 modules covered:

- Establishing a Literacy Community
- Using Data to Inform Instruction and Tiered Levels of Support
- Oral Language and Vocabulary
