Important UPDATED Information Regarding Use of FIRE or IRIS Systems for 1099 Processing
We have some additional information that we need to provide regarding ASCENDER and the electronic submission of your 1099 forms.
After our training earlier this week, we received some additional information regarding the IRS systems for electronic submission of 1099 forms.
To utilize the 1099 file created in ASCENDER, you will need to verify that you have access to FIRE (Filing Information Returns Electronically). The IRIS (Information Returns Intake System) system will not accept file uploads. Therefore, please be sure to request your TCC for FIRE. Please refer to our 1099 Processing webinar recording for additional details regarding requesting your TCC.
Additional Reminders – 2024 Tax Table Imports and Region 16 Holiday Break
Please keep in mind that we will send out an IMS Business announcement as soon as the new tax table imports for the 2024 year are available. This announcement will also include information on how to install these tables. These tax tables must be imported into ASCENDER before you can run the first payroll of the calendar year for 2024. For more information on the tax tables, please refer to the December 411 where this topic was reviewed.
