We have had several questions on the possibility of Auditors not being ready to meet the January 22nd PEIMS Midyear Submission or February 12th Resubmission due date.
There are two separate things happening surrounding Audits and Midyear Dates:
One: The Update to the Audit Application -
* A To the Administrator Addressed Letter went out on October 16th explaining the difference between the Audit 2.0 Application Due Date and the Midyear PEIMS Submission Due Dates. Access the letter here.
* The Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Financial Reports are due via the Audit 2.0 Application in TEAL on February 27th.
Two: The Midyear PEIMS Submission -
* The PEIMS Midyear First Submission is due January 22nd regardless of whether
your district has received their completed audit or not. If your district has not received
the completed audit, at a minimum, all fatal errors must be corrected to complete the
first submission.
* The PEIMS Midyear Resubmission is due February 12th. Your district will need to
have the completed audit back in time for the resubmission. Districts will need time to
enter prior year ending fund balances in District Admin, enter auditors adjusting entries
in the prior File ID in Finance and to verify Finance data. Your district will also need to
make sure to match the auditor’s schedules/reports to TSDS Midyear PEIMS reports.
Summary -
* The update to the Audit Application does NOT mean the Auditors have until February 27th to get the audit information for Midyear PEIMS to school districts. We have asked TEA and they are not planning on an extension.
* Action Item: Please contact your Auditors to make sure they are aware of the difference and to discuss plans to meet the TSDS Midyear Submission due date.
