The Parent and Family Engagement Connection Newsletter

In an effort to overcome barriers and communicate with even more families in Texas, the PFE Statewide Initiative will now be publishing our quarterly PFE newsletter in an additional format using the SMORE website. SMORE enables users to format the newsletter in an accessible format for the visually impaired and also provides the option of translating the newsletter content into a number of additional languages using the Google translation software.

 

These features, while not always perfect, enables schools to meet the requirement of ESSA Title I, Part A Section 1116(d)(2)(D): "......ensuring regular two-way, meaningful communication between family members and school staff, and, to the extent practicable, in a language that family members can understand."
