August IMS Student trainings

 

August WIGO -  Our first WIGO of the school year is on Tuesday, August 6th at 10:30.  Click here to register for this zoom training. 

Remember - we record all of our WIGOs.

 

ASCENDER Student New User Training - We have 2 new user training offerings in August.  During these Two Day Trainings attendees will be trained on the day-to-day routines of Registration, Grade Reporting, and Attendance Applications within the ASCENDER Information System.  This includes processes like registering students, master schedule information, student schedules, and managing attendance. There will also be a focus on the attendees understanding the connection between managing the data and the state requirements. This training is designed for new employees or employees without prior training.

TSDS upgrade project training offerings

Things are changing for the 24-25 school year when it comes to how data flows from ASCENDER to TEA for the various TSDS data submissions.  We are here to keep you in the know.  If you are a TSDS Coordinator make sure you are signed up for one of the Day 2 offerings.  If you are campus or business office staff make sure to sign up for the appropriate day 3 training.

Activating portals reminders

 

Do you have parents or students calling about schedules and you don't know what to do?  Turn off the Student Portal until later and turn off the view schedules option in the Parent Portal to keep those calls from coming in.  REMEMBER TO RETURN TO THESE LOCATIONS TO TURN THINGS ON WHEN NEEDED.

 

To turn off the Student Portal at each campus navigate to Scheduling > Maintenance > Master Schedule > Options Tab - On the Campus Control Tab - StudentPortal Course Requests set the grade levels to CLOSED under the status column.

 

To turn on the TeacherPortal (but don't do it too early) - navigate to Grade Reporting > Maintenance > TeacherPortal Options > District - On the Options tab set the TeacherPortal Use Flag to - TeacherPortal is enabled.

 

To turn off the student schedules in the ParentPoral login as the admin and navigate to Parent Portal Admin Site > District Setting - Select ‘Change’, Enter the date ParentPortal will go live, and save.  Under District Setting - Set Display Schedules to NO.

Just take a look at what needs to be done throughout the year using the Year at a Glance Guide.  Be sure to take a look  before the school year starts and on the 1st day of school because if you don't it may be too late!
