Secure & Simple: MFA Coming to ASCENDER and EmployeePortal

WHAT IS MFA?   Multi Factor Authentication

WHY DO WE NEED IT:

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an additional layer of security to protect your data. Once it is enabled, you will be required to complete the setup using the instructions sent to your email or through Google or Microsoft Authenticator, if that is the method you chose.

WHEN WILL WE SEE IT?

MFA will be rolled out starting January 8th, 2026.  We will communicate a more exact date closer to the time of implementation.

THE PLAN:

When staff log in they will be prompted to complete the setup process outlined in the following how to guides/videos.  After finishing the setup, they will need to log in again and use the authentication code provided to access ASCENDER.

MFA Handout (The Basics)

ASCENDER MFA Only (Google Slide Deck with screen shots showing the steps on using the MFA authenticator options to successfully login to ASCENDER)

ASCENDER MFA and Security App Video (This walks the ASCENDER user through the how to steps of using MFA when logging in and also includes the basics of managing MFA from the admin users perspective)

Zoom Training  - We will  offer a zoom training January 6, 2026 from 1:30-2:30pm (this will be recorded) to go over the basics of the MFA authenticator and basic MFA admin tasks.  Please share with your staff.  The zoom registration link can be found here.

QUESTIONS:   Please enter an ESC 16 ASCENDER ticket here and we will reach out to discuss your questions.
